Guru Felix Valencia teaching the Silat Kids in Lucan

Guru Felix Valencia Visit's to Firhouse / Lucan Kids Club

Guru Felix Valencia took time our from his busy timetable to visit the Local Kids who train

in Silat in Lucan and Firhouse. His message to the kids was a positive one, teaching some basic self defence skills which he teaches the Kids back in LA. He also talk about the roll of being a good student not only in Martial Arts but also in School and at Home. The kids made Guru Felix a Thank you card and signed it. One of the focus our schools is our development of Kids as the future holders of the Art, and to give Kids access to Living Masters, instead of just seeing them on tv and xbox. We thank Guru Felix for coming along and spending his evening with the kids.

Kids Silat Self Defence Grading May 2011 - Kids with their Certs, Monjet Patch and Belt

Family

Family plays a big part in all our lives and we believe it's one of the best ways for children to develop is to share their hobbies with parents. Many of our kids have Parents who train in Silat (Adults classes always follow kids classes). This is a beautiful example of Father and Daughter showing a short demo of Silat at the recent kids Gradings. Well done Tony and Kate

Kids Grading

Congratulations to all the Kids who passed their Gradings on Fridays Night, you have all done me, the clubs teachers, and all of your family and friends proud. I hope you enjoy your new belts and you wear them with pride and honour. Many thanks to all the parents who supported the grading.

Parent News April 2011

Due to demand we are looking into the possibility in setting up a second night in Lucan (Thurs), starting from Sept '11. Also during the summer months we are buying training equipment for the classes, to enhance the kids experience and learning curve. More details to follow soon.

We may also look into setting up a second class on the tuesday night, but this will not happen to Sept and we will not split families up. More details on this will be in the monthly newsheet which will be sent out to all parents starting from Sept.

Kids Grading

Next Grading will be Friday 13th May 2011 in Firhouse. We ask all parents to try and make sure your kids attend class regularly, as its important they dont miss out and fall behind with the training coming up to a grading.

Where is Silat from ?

The Silat we teach in the kids classes is from Indonesia, which is in South East Asia,

Kids have a look at the picture, and maybe when you looking at a World Atlas or Globe next time, would you be able to find Indonesia?
